What's new in 1.7
Stem separation, sync/free clip modes, resizable lanes, and many of quality-of-life improvements.
Mar 31, 2026

With this update, DropLab goes deeper into creative mixing. Stems are finally here unlocking a new class edits, mashups and transitions that weren't possible before.
Stem separation
You can now split any track into its four core layers: bass, drums, vocals, and other (melody and harmony). Remove the vocals from a track mid-transition, layer the drums of one song over the melody of another, or build mashups that would be impossible with full audio clips alone.

Sync and Free modes for clips
Mix clips now support two playback modes: Sync and Free.
In Sync mode (the default), clip's playback speed will be changed to play in sync with the current tempo on the mix timeline. In Free mode, clips play at their original speed regardless of the mix tempo, which is exactly what you want for one-shots and vocals that shouldn't be time-stretched.
Resizable lane heights and collapsible bottom panel
You can now drag the dividers between lanes to resize their heights, and collapse the bottom panel entirely for more timeline space when you're mixing on more than 2 lanes.
M4A support on Windows
M4A is an Apple-developed audio format, and getting it to work on Windows required some extra work under the hood. If you had .m4a tracks that wouldn't import, try again in 1.7.
